ARTICLE VIII - CHURCH COUNCIL
The church council shall function as the administrative body of the church. It shall consist of the chairman, secretary, treasurer, deacons, three members at large, director of Christian education, chairman of the trustee board, chairman of the missions board and chairman of the fellowship ministries board. The members at large shall serve for a three year term, one to be elected annually.
The church council shall have authority to transact business of the church and make recommendations to the congregation at any business meeting or whenever necessary. The council shall nominate deacons and make interim appointments when vacancies occur in offices or boards, shall elect annually one of its members as vice-chairman and shall serve as finance committee of the church. A church treasurer, a vehicle supervisor and a member at large for the transportation committee shall be appointed annually by the council. It shall prepare an annual budget which shall be presented to the church for approval at the annual business meeting. It shall annually review and assure proper remuneration for the pastoral staff (See Conference Recommended Ministers' Support Guidelines).
The council shall annually appoint an auditing committee composed of two members. It shall be the duty of this committee to audit the books of the church treasurer at the close of each fiscal year. See Article IX, 2, F.
Church members are encouraged to visit, bring suggestions, questions and problems to the council.
